- Men's National Team: Fifth place in Division I with 2 wins, lost 2 and tie 1.

- MSSD Team: Lost all 6 games in Division II. First Deaf Youth team ever played.

June: US Deaf Sports Federation at NTID/RIT, Rochester, New York. - Men's Team: Tryout for US Team for1997 Summer World Games for the Deaf in Copenhagen, Denmark.

August: Richard Jacobs returned to the US National team and tried out for National/Olympic team for 1996 Olympics in Atlanta, Georgia. He didn't make the team. 1993 back to top
March: Richard Jacobs traveled with the National Team to Sweden for World Championship. RJ's highlight was scored seven points in two games against Korea and Norway. The US Team was in 16th place.
April: National Championship in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania. - Men's Team: Bronze medal in Division II.
July: Summer World Games for the Deaf. Sofia, Bulgaria.
- Men's Team: Seventh place with 3 wins and 2 lost.

Richard Jacobs injured his knee just two days before leaving for Bulgaria and had to leave the US National team for physical therapy program for two years.

July: US Deaf Sports Festival at Fremont School for the Deaf, Fremont, California. Tryout for 1993 World Games for the Deaf in Sofia, Bulgaria.1991 back to top
July: Richard Jacobs played at North (hearing) team for US Olympic Festival in Los Angeles, California. North team won bronze medal.
December: Richard Jacobs tried out and made on National team. First Deaf player on National (hearing) team and trained for 1996 Olympics in Atlanta, Georgia.1990 back to top

January: Summer World Games of the Deaf in Christchurch, New Zealand. - Men's Team: Bronze medal with 1 win, 1 lost and 1 tie.

October: First tryout for men's team ever at US Olympic Training Center, Colroado Springs, Colorado. 23 Deaf players tried out and only 17 players were selected.

July: Gene Duve and Ron Stern, US Team Committee met Mike Cavanaugh, USA Team Handball's Executive Director, at Summer World Games for the Deaf in Los Angeles, California and learned more about team handball sport. Donald Ammons, US Team Officer, made a proposal to US Deaf Team and they approved a new US Deaf Team Handball sport to be part of US Team for World Games for the Deaf (Deaflympics).
